    Anne Arundel County Mental Health Agency has an immediate opening for a Quality Assurance Manager This position works under the supervision of the Clinical Services Director and is primarily responsible for ensuring that clinical services and administrative processes meet regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards. The Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) drives continuous improvement by auditing, managing risk, analyzing data, and updating policies to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency, both for clinical situations and operational and administrative areas. Major Duties Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance Accreditation: Ensure adherence to CARF, HIPAA, state health department, and other accrediting bodies (e.g., Joint Commission) standards, licensure and Medical Assistance regulations. Quality Improvement Initiatives: Develop, implement, and monitor quality assurance plans and policies, identifying gaps or potential problems, and making recommendations to senior staff for continued improvement. Auditing and Data Analysis: Perform audits on clinical records, patient care plans, and administrative processes (like patient access/billing/adherence to policies) to ensure data integrity and identify risk. Manage Programs that are on Corrective Action Plans (CAP)to ensure compliance with the CAPs. Coordinate with the Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) and the Administrative Service Organization (ASO)on state and ASO audits. Complaints: Investigate and address complaints from individuals, family members, providers, the BHA and the ASO. Submit complaint reports as necessary Performance Monitoring: Track and report on quality metrics to leadership, recommending, and implementing corrective actions based on data. Staff Education Training: Train clinical and administrative staff on new procedures, compliance updates, and best practices. Quality Assurance/Risk Management: Analyzes and evaluates patient/staff/provider incident reports and reports to BHA Manages all complaints according to policy. Prepares monthly risk assessments for presentation to the Board of Directors on Risk activities Qualifications Abilities: Education: Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN), or Masters degree in Social Work, Psychology, Health Administration, or a related field; Experience: Generally, 3-5+ years of experience in healthcare, with at least 1-3 years in a leadership or quality role. Certifications: Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) is highly desirable. Licensure: Masters level license, independently licensed required Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Qualifax (Credible) Meditech), Microsoft Office Suite, and data analysis tools. Full-Time Day Shift, Salary - $103,000.00 to $126,000.00 Salary is commensurate with education, credentials and experience. The Anne Arundel County Mental Health Agency, Inc. is seeking a compassionate, licensed behavioral health professional to join its Crisis Response System as a Hospital Diversion Specialist 2. This position reports to and is directly supervised by the Hospital Diversion Supervisor and CRS Director within the Anne Arundel County Mental Health Agency, Inc. (Agency). This position interacts regularly with both Anne Arundel County Hospitals (AAMC and BWMC), Operations Center staff and the Mobile Crisis Team (MCT) to address client needs. In this rewarding role, you will collaborate with local hospitals, law enforcement, community providers, and the Mobile Crisis Teams to help individuals experiencing behavioral health crises to access timely treatment and community-based services. Your work will help reduce unnecessary hospitalizations by connecting clients with the least restrictive and most appropriate level of care. Hospital Diversion services to clients include crisis intervention, case management, client advocacy, crisis prevention, and client education. Key Responsibilities Work collaboratively with local hospitals and police to assist with consumers linkage to resources Provides crisis intervention to clients experiencing mental or behavioral distress Establishes routines and procedures for daily client follow-up Interviews clients, reviews, records, conducts assessments, or confers with community providers to evaluate the mental or physical condition of clients or patients Collaborates with community providers to plan or coordinate treatment Refers clients to community resources for housing or treatment to assist in recovery from mental illness and/or substance abuse, following through to ensure service efficacy Collaborates and obtains appropriate authorizations for use of crisis beds or other critical service needs Educates clients about mental health, substance abuse and available community resources Monitors, evaluates, records and provides follow-up on client progress with respect to Agency mission and treatment goals Assist clients with treatment adherence, appointments, and transportation as needed. Support intern training and perform other related duties. Qualifications Masters degree in Social Work or Counseling Psychology. LMSW or LGPC license required. Minimum 2 years of related behavioral health experience or equivalent combination of education, experience, and credentials. Strong assessment, crisis intervention, safety planning, and counseling skills. Extensive knowledge of behavioral health systems, community resources, and substance use treatment. Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills. Knowledge of acute medical, psychiatric and substance use symptoms, diagnoses and treatments. Strong clinical assessment, crisis intervention, de-escalation, and safety planning skills. Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting. Ability to maintain effective and professional relationships with clients and others. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
