  • Harmony Design Engineering is seeking a motivated and experienced Land Surveyor to join our collaborative team. The surveyor will gain hands-on experience in both field and office environments and play a key role in delivering high-quality, practical solutions that align with Harmony s integrated approach to engineering and design. QUALIFICIATIONS: LSI/LSIT certification (or ability to obtain within 6 12 months) required Associate s or Bachelor s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or related field from an accredited college required 2 years of recent CAD drafting experience preferred along with survey field crew experience. Experience with Trimble Robotic and GPS equipment and Trimble Business Center. Knowledge of the Public Land Survey System (PLSS) Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Good communication skills Interest in learning, growing, and ability to work as part of a team A current driver s license in good standing ability to operate company owned vehicles. Ability to operate watercraft on rivers a plus. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Work directly with Survey Department Manager to secure departmental workload and manage survey staff and field crews. Essential functions include: Work on Land Survey projects including PLSS retracements, Topographic Surveys, Condominium and Subdivision Plats, Boundary Surveys, Property Line Adjustments, Property Research, Legal Descriptions, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, FEMA Elevation Certificates, Construction Staking, As-built and Foundation Surveys. Perform all necessary technical aspects of land survey projects listed above, including pre-field, field, and post processing tasks. Perform all necessary technical aspects of typical construction staking projects. Advanced knowledge and capabilities working with Geomatics software and hardware. This is specifically Trimble Business Center software and equipment. Mentor land survey and appropriate staff. Staff/resource management and logistical support to survey department. Represent company professionalism, community mindedness, and reputation for excellence and fairness on a daily basis. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The ability to withstand sustained periods (all day) of being outside and enduring Rocky Mountain weather is essential. Must be able to use a sledgehammer and carry heavy equipment such as GPS base station, RV battery, tripods, and equipment and supply bags. Must be able to stand for sustained periods (all day) and have the ability to hike up and down steep grades and climb over fences. Loading and unloading survey equipment and supplies into and out of the back of a truck daily. Loading, unloading, and operating an All-Terrain Vehicle. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform cadastral, boundary, ALTA/NSPS surveys, and water right surveys. Develop subdivision condominium plats and record of surveys. Perform site/topographic surveys for small and large projects. Compile/reduce data and import data into drawings. Prepare parcel descriptions for properties, roads, easements, rights of way, etc. Control surveys: establish and maintain control networks over large and small sites. Construction staking, including the ability to generate stakeout data from plans and transfer that information onto the ground. Maintain quality control procedures on survey operations.     We are currently seeking a highly motivated Professional Land Surveyor with excellent communication skills to join our team and oversee field staff to ensure the timely completion of projects. Out-of-State licensees and/or individuals with LSIT qualifications and the ability to obtain a Professional Land Surveyor license within one year are also encouraged to apply. REQUIRED QUALIFICIATIONS: Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or ability to obtain PLS in Idaho and Wyoming within 12 months of employment is required.
