    As part of an exciting period of transformation and growth, they are seeking to appoint an experienced Head of Pricing to lead their pricing function and play a pivotal role in securing new business and driving commercial success.

    Reporting directly to the Divisional Managing Director, this is a senior leadership position responsible for developing robust pricing solutions that support major bids and tenders, ensuring commercial competitiveness whilst protecting long-term profitability.

    Key Responsibilities Lead the pricing function across major strategic bids and business development opportunities.

    Develop robust estimating, labour loading and cost models for complex service contracts.

    Partner closely with Sales, Business Development, Commercial and Operational stakeholders throughout the bid lifecycle.

    Ensure pricing solutions accurately reflect operational delivery models, commercial risk and margin expectations.

    Challenge assumptions, identify commercial opportunities and optimise pricing strategies to maximise bid success.

    Lead, coach and develop a high-performing pricing team, driving continuous improvement and best practice.

    Establish and maintain pricing governance, methodologies, tools and reporting.

    Support senior leadership with commercial decision-making through detailed financial analysis and modelling.

    Extensive estimating, labour loading and cost modelling experience.

    A strong track record of supporting successful bids and tender wins within large, complex organisations.

    Experience developing pricing models for multi-million-pound service-based contracts.

    Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance competitiveness, risk and profitability.

    Proven experience leading and developing pricing teams.

    Excellent stakeholder management skills with the credibility to influence senior leadership.

    Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

    Role Purpose

    The Quantity Surveyor will provide commercial and contractual support across a portfolio of design-and-build engineering projects for several clients within the nuclear and defence sectors. Based full-time at the company's office, the role will support projects delivered under NEC and other contract forms, including both fixed-price and reimbursable arrangements. The ideal candidate will have experience within a heavily regulated, industrial, engineering or manufacturing environment and understand the commercial controls required to deliver complex projects successfully. The position also offers significant training and development opportunities, making it suitable for someone looking to broaden their contractual knowledge and progress their commercial career.

    Working closely with Project Management, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain and Operations, the postholder will monitor project costs, revenue, cash flow, risk and commercial performance throughout the full project lifecycle-from tender handover and contract award through to completion and final account.

    The role will also support the effective administration of customer and supplier contracts, including valuations, applications for payment, contractual notices, variations, compensation events and change control.

    Key Responsibilities

    Project Commercial Management
    • Provide commercial and contractual support throughout the full lifecycle of assigned projects.
    • Participate in tender and contract handovers, ensuring that the commercial basis, scope, assumptions, exclusions, risks and contractual obligations are clearly understood.
    • Establish and maintain project budgets, cost plans and commercial reporting structures.
    • Monitor actual and committed expenditure against project budgets and forecasts.
    • Prepare regular cost-value reconciliations, project forecasts and estimates of cost to complete.
    • Monitor project revenue, margin, cash flow and working capital, identifying potential deviations at an early stage.
    • Produce accurate and timely commercial reports for Project Managers, Finance and senior management.
    • Work with project teams to identify opportunities to improve margin and overall commercial performance.
    Contract Administration/Commerical

    • Review customer contracts and purchase orders to identify key commercial obligations, risks and opportunities.
    • Support the administration of contracts (NEC type) in accordance with the relevant terms and conditions.
    • Prepare quotations and commercial submissions for additional or changed work.
    • Support the administration of NEC contracts where applicable, including early warnings, compensation events, quotations and programme-related
    • Prepare and submit accurate applications for payment, valuations and supporting documentation.
    • Monitor payment certification and receipts, working with Finance and the customer to resolve discrepancies or delays.
    • Assess subcontractor and supplier applications, invoices and claims against contractual entitlement and completed work.
    • Support the agreement of project completion accounts and final accounts.
    • Help minimise aged debt, unbilled revenue and commercial exposure.
    • Identify, assess and monitor commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Maintain commercial risk, opportunity and change registers.
    • Ensure that project changes are supported by appropriate records, cost evidence and customer authorisation.
    • Work with Project Managers and Engineering teams to understand the cost and programme consequences of technical or operational changes.
    • Challenge uncontrolled scope growth and support effective change-control discipline.
    • Contribute to project reviews, lessons-learned exercises and continuous-improvement activities.
    • Ensure that commercial activities comply with company procedures, delegated authorities and contractual obligations.
    • Maintain accurate, complete and auditable project commercial records.
    • Support internal and external audits where required.
    • Protect the company's commercial position while maintaining constructive customer and supplier relationships.
    • Handle commercially sensitive information with appropriate confidentiality.
    • Promote high standards of safety, quality, integrity and professional conduct.
    • Undertake other reasonable duties appropriate to the nature and level of the position.

    Essential Experience, Skills and Qualifications

    • Experience in a Quantity Surveying, commercial or contract administration role within engineering, manufacturing, construction or another project-led environment. The client will consider someone at earlier stages of their QS career or with a number of years' experience.
    • Strong numerical, mathematical and analytical skills, with experience of cost control, forecasting or financial analysis.
    • Ability to interpret contracts, purchase orders, scopes of work and other commercial documentation.
    • Understanding of contractual mechanisms and how contracts should be administered.
    • Experience of monitoring project costs, budgets and commercial performance.
    • Ability to identify and assess variations, changes, commercial risks and contractual obligations.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Effective negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
    • Good attention to detail and the ability to maintain clear, accurate and auditable records.
