  • Utility Arborist  

    - Hermitage

    Description
    As a Utility Arborist, using your technical expertise, you will deliver a first-class service to our customers with safety being paramount. Your role will be to clear trees and vegetation in proximity to our customers overhead transmission and distribution network. Working with safety at the forefront of all activities, you will work with your team to evaluate, prepare and carry out tree cutting works on a variety of sites. This role sits within our arboriculture and infrastructure vegetation management division Environmental Solutions Plus. ESP has an excellent reputation for the safe and efficient delivery of arboriculture and infrastructure vegetation management services. Operating Nationally from our Ledbury headquarters, we work across a number of strategic, long term contracts with leading utility and infrastructure asset owners.


    Key Responsibilities
    Work within a team of arborists to deliver a work programme Be motivated to achieve delivery targets  Attend faults out of hours as part of standby rota Understand the relevant industry legislation and safety guidelines associated with carrying out arboricultural work within the proximity of power lines Work within the compliance standards set by our internal policy and client expectations Work with the wider delivery team to ensure work is tracked and completed according to the client’s requirements  Enjoy working autonomously, always focused on delivering a first-class service with a professional manner


    Experience and Qualifications
    Utility arboriculture experience Hold a valid UK driving licence (B+E an advantage) Utility arb units UA301, UA302, UA303, UA304, UA305 Chainsaw units: CS30 (201/202), CS31 (203), CS38 (206/306), CS39 (308), CS40 (307) (any in addition to this will be an advantage)  Working specifically on the SSE Utility Tree Contract.   • Lead Gas Engineer  

    - Leicester

    Description
    As part of our Emergency Response Team, you’ll be the first on the scene at customers’ homes, which makes you the face of our brand for people who are worried about potential gas escapes or carbon monoxide activated alarms.


    Key Responsibilities
    Sometimes you’ll be dealing with the emergency services on behalf of our customers, making you part of a team that’s responsible for protecting people’s lives. They could be vulnerable, elderly, or simply looking for help, and it’s that level of empathy, plus the pride you’ll feel from caring for people and keeping them safe in their homes that could make you a Cadent person.

    It’s a role where no two days are the same, so from installation, replacement, and maintenance of gas meters for our home and business customers, to high rise and gas safety regulation surveys, to fitting cooker safety valves, when we say it’s a varied role, we mean it.

    You MUST have a full valid driver’s licence.

    You will be required to work on a shift pattern rota [averaging 40 hours per week] which will include weekends & unsociable hours.
    Experience and Qualifications
    We are looking for excellent communication skills and the ability to keep calm under pressure. The ideal candidate shall:

    Be able to work in a Dynamic and collaborative work environment. Have a Strong knowledge of gas systems, regulations, and safety protocols. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
    You must have either a CCN1 or CMA1 qualification to apply. A MET1 qualification would be beneficial but is not essential. As well as experience working within a gas environment, including good knowledge of gas appliances; testing, purging and the commissioning of pipework.

    An understanding of Standards, Legislation, Codes of Practice and Health and Safety.

  • Corporate Finance Manager

    Description
    The Corporate Finance Manager will play a key role in supporting the Group's funding and treasury activities, ensuring the business maintains an appropriate capital structure, strong liquidity and effective relationships with lenders and other financing stakeholders. The role will be responsible for managing the Group's c.£0.5bn debt facilities, covenant compliance, Treasury Policy and liquidity forecasting, while supporting an active M&A portfolio and other strategic growth initiatives.

    Working closely with the Group Reporting Manager and Treasury Manager, the Corporate Fi-nance Manager will oversee financing risks, treasury governance and liquidity management, while acting as a key contact for lenders, Credit Rating Agencies and banking partners.

    This is a newly created role within the Group Finance team, reflecting the continued growth and development of the business and providing an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the Group's financing and treasury activities, supporting a substantial debt portfolio and an active acquisition strategy.
    Key Responsibilities
    Own the Group’s Senior Facilities Agreement, ensuring ongoing compliance with all terms, conditions and reporting obligations. Develop and maintain the Group Treasury Policy, ensuring alignment with the Group’s strategic objectives, risk appetite and funding requirements. Own the calculation, monitoring and reporting of all debt covenant compliance requirements. Manage funding requirements for acquisition and other strategic initiatives, including sup-port for bank migration projects. Manage interest rate risk exposure and recommend appropriate hedging strategies, including the use of straightforward derivative instruments where appropriate.  Oversee the investment of surplus cash and liquidity management activities, ensuring compliance with the Treasury Policy.  Prepare materials for Credit Rating Agencies, lenders and other financing stakeholders.  Lead banking and lender Know Your Customer (KYC) processes. Work with the Group Reporting Manager to support the optimisation of the Group’s corporate and financing structure. Work with the Treasury Manager on day-to-day cash management and cash flow forecasting activities as required, to support business operations and improve processes. Identify opportunities to improve treasury systems, processes and reporting capabilities.
    Experience and Qualifications
    Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with relevant post-qualification experience in corporate finance, treasury or group finance.  Strong understanding of corporate finance and treasury activities, including debt facilities, covenant compliance, liquidity management and financial risk management.  Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience building effective relationships across finance teams and with external partners, including banks and lenders.  Highly organised and proactive, with strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.  Experience identifying and delivering process improvements, enhancing controls, efficiency and reporting across finance and treasury activities.

  • Gas Design Manager

    Description
     As a Gas Designer you will play a key role in the design process, from site surveys through to the production of detailed drawings, while developing your technical expertise and working closely with experienced engineers and project teams.
    Key Responsibilities
    Monitor leading industry practices, recommend new design approaches, and identify upcoming trends. Develop high-quality concepts, working with team on iterations and design, actively seek feedback from Creative and Business stakeholders Working on all design phases of projects, including project set-up, programming, design, and CDM documentation Requesting & reviewing STAT plans Providing technical design support to other members of the design team. Collaborate with both internal design team, client design team and external consultants to execute creative projects Responding to and resolving issues with external parties such as the client, third party organisations & sub-contractors Producing a weekly design report & presenting information to the Design Manager during the weekly design output meeting. Complete regular site visits and surveys to gather information for detailed designs & as-laid drawings. Represent the company and arrange pre-design and walk off meetings with the client. Ensure compliance with CDM 2015 throughout the design process. Produce and make ongoing updates to the H&S file throughout various stages of the project ensuring that it is up to date and available at the end of the project. Create high-quality detailed technical drawings, plans and general arrangements. Work alongside the Framework Manager / Project Manager/ Operations Manager/ Design Manager to ensure all schemes are designed within budget and within the time constraints set by the client. Assist with design queries during construction from the onsite team. Take designs through the clients G17 governance process. Travel across to sites across the UK may be required for tender events and in progress design reviews.

    Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
    Engineering qualifications desirable however good experience would be considered.  Experience of working on intermediate pressure and high pressure gas mains  Experience of working in the gas industry on designing high-profile projects Understanding and knowledge of relevant Engineering specifications that apply to the gas industry (IGEM standards) Knowledge and Awareness of CDM 2015 Proficient user of AutoCAD Competent in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work as part of a team and to organise your workload across multiple projects Willingness to mentor and support less experienced colleagues

  • Corporate Finance Manager

    Description
    The Corporate Finance Manager will play a key role in supporting the Group's funding and treasury activities, ensuring the business maintains an appropriate capital structure, strong liquidity and effective relationships with lenders and other financing stakeholders. The role will be responsible for managing the Group's c.£0.5bn debt facilities, covenant compliance, Treasury Policy and liquidity forecasting, while supporting an active M&A portfolio and other strategic growth initiatives.

    Working closely with the Group Reporting Manager and Treasury Manager, the Corporate Fi-nance Manager will oversee financing risks, treasury governance and liquidity management, while acting as a key contact for lenders, Credit Rating Agencies and banking partners.

    This is a newly created role within the Group Finance team, reflecting the continued growth and development of the business and providing an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the Group's financing and treasury activities, supporting a substantial debt portfolio and an active acquisition strategy.
    Key Responsibilities
    Own the Group’s Senior Facilities Agreement, ensuring ongoing compliance with all terms, conditions and reporting obligations. Develop and maintain the Group Treasury Policy, ensuring alignment with the Group’s strategic objectives, risk appetite and funding requirements. Own the calculation, monitoring and reporting of all debt covenant compliance requirements. Manage funding requirements for acquisition and other strategic initiatives, including sup-port for bank migration projects. Manage interest rate risk exposure and recommend appropriate hedging strategies, including the use of straightforward derivative instruments where appropriate.  Oversee the investment of surplus cash and liquidity management activities, ensuring compliance with the Treasury Policy.  Prepare materials for Credit Rating Agencies, lenders and other financing stakeholders.  Lead banking and lender Know Your Customer (KYC) processes. Work with the Group Reporting Manager to support the optimisation of the Group’s corporate and financing structure. Work with the Treasury Manager on day-to-day cash management and cash flow forecasting activities as required, to support business operations and improve processes. Identify opportunities to improve treasury systems, processes and reporting capabilities.
    Experience and Qualifications
    Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with relevant post-qualification experience in corporate finance, treasury or group finance.  Strong understanding of corporate finance and treasury activities, including debt facilities, covenant compliance, liquidity management and financial risk management.  Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience building effective relationships across finance teams and with external partners, including banks and lenders.  Highly organised and proactive, with strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.  Experience identifying and delivering process improvements, enhancing controls, efficiency and reporting across finance and treasury activities.
