Zusammen mit dem weiteren Schwerpunkt Biophysik bietet die Fachrichtung Physik Studiengänge mit breiter Ausrichtung an: neben dem klassischen Bachelor- und Masterstudiengang Physik auch Lehramtsstudiengänge, Biophysik, Quantum Engineering und den interdisziplinären Bachelor plus MINT. An der Naturwissenschaftlich-Technischen Fakultät, Fachrichtung Physik der Universität des Saarlandes am Standort Saarbrücken ist zum 01.04.2027 eine W3-Professur für Didaktik der Physik mit Schwerpunkt Quantentechnologien (m/w/d; Kennziffer W2884) zu besetzen. Die Universität lädt außerdem zur Bewerbung um eine weitere Professur für Experimentelle Physik der Quantentechnologien (m/w/d; Kennziffer: W2885) ein. Die erfolgreiche Bewerberin/Der erfolgreiche Bewerber (m/w/d) forscht auf dem Gebiet der Fachdidaktik der Physik, vorzugsweise mit dem Schwerpunkt Quantentechnologien, und entwickelt die Lehrerbildung im Fach Physik auf der Grundlage aktueller physikdidaktischer Forschung weiter. Das Profil wird durch fachwissen­schaftliche Forschung auf dem Gebiet der experimentellen Quantentechnologien ergänzt, mit einem Fokus auf möglichen Anwendungen in der Quanten-Metrologie/Sensorik, Quanten-Kommunikation, des Quanten-Computing/Simulation oder der zugehörigen Schlüsselkomponenten. Das angestrebte Forschungs­programm soll die existierende Forschung in der Fachrichtung Physik ergänzen und verstärken. Eine enge Einbindung in das Zentrum für Quantentechnologien (Qu-Te) sowie eine Beteiligung an der Jülich-Saarbrücken-Graduiertenschule “Quantum Information and Computation- ist vorgesehen und soll aktiv weiterentwickelt werden. Von der erfolgreichen Bewerberin / dem erfolgreichen Bewerber wird die Übernahme der fachdidaktischen Veranstaltungen für die Lehramtsstudiengänge Physik (Sekundarstufe 1, 1+2, berufliche Schulen und Quereinstiegsmaster) erwartet, sowie eine angemessene Beteiligung an den Lehrveranstaltungen der Experimentalphysik. Zu den Aufgaben gehören zudem Aktivitäten im Bereich der Fort- und Weiterbildung von Physiklehrkräften, Kooperationen mit Fachleitungen und Schulen, sowie die Beteiligung an der Weiterentwicklung der Studiengänge der Physik, einschließlich des Bachelor- und Master-Studiengangs „Quantum Engineering“. Vorausgesetzt wird ein eigenständiges Forschungsprofil an der Schnittstelle von Physikdidaktik und experimenteller Quantentechnologie, nachgewiesen durch einschlägige Publikationen, Einwerbung von forschungsorientierten Drittmitteln, sowie durch Kooperation mit Schulen. Erfahrungen im Transfer fach­didaktischer und fachwissenschaftlicher Erkenntnisse in die Schulpraxis sind wünschenswert. Einstellungsvoraussetzungen sind neben den allgemeinen dienstrechtlichen Voraussetzungen ein abge­schlossenes Hochschulstudium der Physik (oder äquivalent), mit anschließender, qualitativ herausragender Promotion und weiteren Nachweisen der besonderen Befähigung zum wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten als habilitationsäquivalente Leistungen. Die besondere Eignung im Bereich der Fachdidaktik Physik wird durch Unterrichtserfahrungen in der Schulpraxis (vorzugsweise nachgewiesen durch ein Referendariat, zweites Staatsexamen) oder durch äquivalente Erfahrungen, z. B. Forschungsaktivitäten zu schulpraktischen Fragestellungen, nachgewiesen.
